Ramenhead is Cape Town’s destination for authentic ramen, with silky freshly made noodles, umami rich broth simmered for 48 hours, and sake served in brimful glasses.
Ramenhead is home to the only Yamato noodle machine in Africa, producing every noodle fresh in-house each day. This rare piece of Japanese craftsmanship makes Ramenhead a truly one-of-a-kind destination, with every bowl beginning with silky, freshly made noodles unlike any other on the continent.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Julia du Toit, with guidance from FYN Group’s Peter Tempelhoff and Ashley Moss. Inspired by the ramen shops of Japan, Ramenhead combines authentic techniques with carefully selected ingredients to create a menu rooted in tradition and craftsmanship.
Beyond its signature ramen, the menu features Japanese street food favourites such as chicken karaage and okonomiyaki fries. Under the direction of Jennifer Hugé, the bar complements the experience with award-winning cocktails, local and imported beers, and premium sake served from traditional masu cups.
Casual, energetic, and unmistakably vibrant, Ramenhead blends the spirit of a modern Tokyo ramen bar with a distinctly Cape Town edge. Live music fills the space every Thursday, while weekday happy hour from 17:00 to 19:00 offers 50% off selected cocktails and all small plates, making it the perfect spot for an after-work drink, a quick bite, or a relaxed evening with friends.
